What IS the Poland Drive Project?
The Poland Drive project focuses on helping people in need. In its early years, the project focused on working with the “Odrodzeni” Foundation, which helps mothers and children in need. Since 2009, FIS students have traveled to Poland and helped in a children's home in Kolackovo.
During their time in Poland, students have the opportunity to work with other young people and learn about their culture and way of life – and in doing so, learn about the importance of family, morals and values.
The students involved in the Poland Drive work throughout the school year to raise money used to purchase items needed by the children in the homes. Fund raising activities include bake sales, pizza sales and clothing collections, as well as hosting a booth at Applefest, held each year in the fall at the FIS campus.
